Remembering a Mothers Way

For once Yuie uses a decides to take up Arius' bow to train like he used to with his mother when it came to the hunt. It still feels like a nice flash back to being with her. Every touch on the string feeling new to him all the while his shoulder and elbow align straight against his grip on the bow. The left hand solid like stone, index finger out, the corner of his eye working to with it to measure the shot. Rich cool mountain air passing over his hair from a top view, he angles his arms a little higher. Breath at ease, the arrow is let free with a sigh parting his lips. The arrow flew true just as if his mother was teaching him all over again. The arrow landed only 3 inches above the center of the target. It was about a short sprints' worth ahead. Second arrow grazed over the bow at the ready. Another breath to capture. Right eye dominating the length of its path. Another breath released with the arrow landing. It hit the target about 1 inches off the center. With a smile to mach the gleam upon his eye, his shoulder locks with his arm recalling the next arrow aback. Shot at the ready to be taken, breath held in with mind serene. "YUIEEEEEEEEE!?" Shoulder loss at posture, the arrow fired too off course. His ears perking to the call only to see the small town children wanting to see him sword fight with the town blacksmith, their father again. Kneeling down to see them both, the corner of his eye saw where the arrow flew. It had landed on two apples above the tree aligned together by the tip and stem. Not something you see every day nor something to be done on luck alone. 


This sketch was done by an old friend of mine back at the island PR. and I completely enjoy the soft stern expression to his face. Just reminds me of every time I tried to get better at archery for my mom. I miss competing with her even though I am not to her scale on it.
